They are seeking a Process Engineer – SMT Programmer to provide technical support for manufacturing processes, analyze data for improvements, and manage engineering project assignments to enhance profitability and efficiency.

Responsibilities

Programming implementation and initial setup of production equipment

Use of offline programming software to develop work instructions and machine programs including but not limited to: stencil design, solder paste inspection, surface mount pick and place, selective solder, wave solder, and AOI

Responsible for set up and maintenance of component package library

Carries out cost-effective design, installation, method of transfer, monitoring, and modification of manufacturing processes

Analyzes yield and statistical process control data and provides corrective actions

Prepares project plans, manages/executes completion in time-critical manner

Establishes and maintains systems for determining whether a product, as designed, can be manufactured

Immediate technical support to production staff: Provide Real-time “tweaks" to production processes; Feedback to & coordination of issues & updates w/ Managers, Engineers and Supervisors

Provide technical support for SPC feedback and error proofing production processes

Perform and document 8D root cause / corrective action investigations

Ensure production department(s) are in compliance with ISO9001 and AS9100 standards

Required

Ability to interpret customer documentation (Blueprints, drawings, bills of material, specifications)

Solidworks or similar 3d modeling software

Use of various software platforms for equipment set up for Thermal Profiling for Convection Reflow and Wave Solder, Valor Process Preparation for artwork conversation to machine formats for SMT programming and troubleshooting

Hands on skills for mechanical assembly; hardware installation, epoxy application

Use of basic hand tools and machine shop equipment

Cross-functional communication skills, partnering across engineering, quality, and operations

BS Engineering Degree (Mechanical/Electrical/Industrial/Manufacturing) or equivalent experience required

Experience with offline programming using Valor Process Prep is a plus

Experience with surface mount and solder process is a plus

Screen Printer and Solder Paste Inspection system Programming

Pick and Place Programming

Reflow Profiling

Previous engineering experience within a PCBA environment

Working knowledge of Industry and Military Standards
