Manage and direct the legal department in handling all contested matters
Supervise, mentor, and develop legal staff, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and professional growth
Design and implement effective litigation strategies to achieve favorable outcomes
Oversee the preparation, filing, and management of pleadings, motions, and other case-related documents
Provide timely legal guidance to leadership and operations teams regarding case progress and strategic options
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding contested matters
Provide clear and concise status updates, legal recommendations, and settlement options
Draft, review, and negotiate legal documents, contracts, and settlement agreements
Partner with operations, compliance, and client service teams to align legal strategies with organizational goals
Support internal stakeholders by ensuring legal risks are identified and addressed proactively
Monitor changes in legislation and legal precedents, advising leadership on potential impacts
Update and implement internal policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure ongoing compliance
Identify, assess, and mitigate potential legal risks across contested matters and recovery efforts
Qualification
Required
Minimum of 5+ years of experience in litigation, experience in creditor's rights/collections a plus
Strong knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards
Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex legal concepts into practical guidance
Preferred
Prior leadership or management experience overseeing legal teams preferred
