The Object Storage Service team is looking for hands-on engineers to solve difficult problems in distributed systems and large scale storage, contributing to the development of best-in-class Object Storage Service features.

Responsibilities
Own the software design and development for major components and features of the Object Storage Service
Define software architecture with performance in mind and leveraging hardware acceleration where possible
Dive deep into any part of the stack and low level systems
Design broad distributed system interactions
Qualification
Required
10+ years of experience delivering and operating large scale, highly available distributed systems
Proven experience in Java or C++ languages
Familiar with scripting languages like python
In-depth knowledge Linux kernel and Ethernet/IP/TCP/HTTP protocols
Strong understanding of system performance and hardware acceleration
Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms and distributed systems fundamentals
Knowledge of databases, storage and distributed persistence technologies
Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills
Experience building multi-tenant infrastructure a strong plus

Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
