Engineering Associate II (Utilities Project Manager)
NEOGOV is seeking an Engineering Associate II (Utilities Project Manager) to join the Department of Public Works and Transportation, Bureau of Utilities. The role involves performing advanced engineering tasks related to utility maintenance and repair projects, including project management, field investigations, and collaboration with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities
Performs various work in the management of utility maintenance and repair projects, including updating project records, reviewing and approving project submittals, tracking project schedules, and investigating issues preventing work completion or causing system deficiencies
Operates computers and peripheral equipment to perform GIS work, research engineer drawings, and performs deed research to assist with planned utility repair and maintenance work
Conducts field visits to investigate system deficiencies and confirm the need for planned work or determine necessary changes to project scope
Analyzes engineering drawings to advise field crews
Prepares estimates of the cost and quantity of materials required for maintenance and repair projects
Participates in meetings with professional engineers, contractors, field staff supervisors, and consulting agencies
Represent the County in meetings and correspondence with property owners, contractors, and consultants
Prepares reports and records as necessary
Performs other related duties as required
Qualification
Required
Possession of a high school diploma or an appropriate equivalent
Six years' subprofessional engineering experience
Proof of Licenses, Certifications and Education
Proof of Degree Equivalency
Applicants will be qualified based on an evaluation of their training and experience, as stated on their application, which includes answers to the supplemental questions
Applicants must state the dates and duties of past and present experience clearly and completely for evaluation purposes
Applicants selected for employment with Baltimore County must successfully complete an employment investigation, including, but not limited to criminal background, education, and fingerprinting checks
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in engineering, cartography, physics or mathematics or a closely related field, plus two years' of sub-professional engineering experience
Associate's degree in engineering, cartography, physics, mathematics or a closely related field, plus four years' of sub-professional engineering experience
Experience with software used in geographic information systems (GIS), computer modeling and engineering studies
Field or office engineering experience in one or more of the following areas: Assists engineers on survey problems, Sanitary Sewer Maintenance Programs, Stormwater management design, Utility Inspections, Engineering experience reviewing applications for building, water, plumbing, and electrical permits or licenses, public works agreements, or plan submittals, Operation of computers and peripheral equipment to perform GIS work and computer aided drafting and design of engineering drawings, plans, and projects, AutoCAD drafting and reviewing plans, Managing construction projects
