Responsibilities

Create and assess aero designs for advanced gas turbine fans and compressors from the concept initiation phase, preliminary engine design phase, through detailed design, development, certification, manufacturing and post-certification
Perform airfoil and flowpath design, data analyses, computational fluid dynamics (CFD), and optimization analyses. Emphasis is on analytical work and testing directed at the performance of compression system modules
Communicate technical progress and status to various program groups, senior management, and customers
Work with the Aero-Thermal Fluids (ATF) leadership team to define and execute technology plans, establish standard work methodologies and design system enhancements
Demonstrate leadership for the aerodynamics team providing Module Center and Program Systems support will be a critical skill for success

Required

Bachelor's degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering and 5+ years of experience in aerodynamics applications; OR an advanced degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering and 3+ years of experience in aerodynamics applications
US Citizenship required, due to government contracts

Preferred

Ability to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing
Experience working with and contributing to a cross-functional team
