Responsibilities
Develop the DigitalOcean Managed Kubernetes product
Develop back-end gRPC services written in Go deployed on Kubernetes
Design back-end services and author engineering design documents
Raise the bar for Operational Excellence
Independently lead projects
Navigate the complexity of distributed systems and operate them in production
Break the design documents into actionable epics and stories with estimates
Run experiments to optimize user experience and increase adoption of DOKS
Contribute to and maintain open-source projects, and collaborate with our developer community through customer meetings, blogs, and podcasts
Find emerging tools, trends, and methodologies and show your team how to integrate them against existing systems and processes
Regularly interact with important customers to understand their needs in the product
Contribute meaningfully to discussions on architecture, implementation, design patterns, and processes while being able to succinctly convey ideas to peers and mentees
Work on teams that operate across multiple time zones
Qualification
Required
Expert knowledge of Kubernetes internals and Go
Experience operating Kubernetes platforms at scale
Ability to drive complex projects from inception through completion
