They are seeking an experienced Permitting Engineer to create and review conveyor permitting packages and develop conveyor system layouts using CAD software. The role involves working independently, managing permit sets, and providing technical support to installation personnel.

Responsibilities
Create and/or review permitting drawing sets and calculations for accuracy and specific Jurisdictional requirements
May require meetings with Jurisdiction reviewers via virtual meetings
Lay out conveyor systems to meet the customer requirements
Create engineering drawings for use in permits, proposals, and installation
Create bills of material and routings for use in cost estimates and manufacturing
Perform engineering computations
Provide technical support to shop personnel and installation personnel
Perform Lead Engineer role for assigned permits including customer interaction, vendor communication, and project management as required
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Knowledge about one or more company products
Knowledge of basic permitting plans and ability to interpret building codes
Proficiency required in AutoCAD 2D
Proficiency required in Microsoft Office software, especially Excel
Ability to work with independence and initiative to provide leadership as required for a team of peers on large projects
Ability to perform/review fundamental engineering calculations employing software or by hand
Ability to team with our engineering, sales, and production personnel to meet customer needs
Minimum 2 years' work experience required
Good verbal and written communication skills
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and basic electrical schematics
Ability to read and interpret jurisdictional requirements for permitting
Proficient in algebra and geometry as is required to solve engineering problems
AutoCAD 2D drawing and layout experience
Excel spreadsheet experience
Preferred
Additional proficiency preferred in Inventor/Navisworks 3D, and SolidWorks 3D
Experience in Parcel/Distribution/E-Commerce conveyor systems and equipment design is preferred
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering preferred, or Mechanical engineering degree with civil experience / background
