Responsibilities
Provide professional design services for transportation improvement projects for municipal agencies and NCDOT
Design roadway geometry and details, drainage, traffic control, pavement markings, and signing for transportation infrastructure
Interact with client management teams, engineers in other technical disciplines, and marketing teams
Design using MicroStation, experience in Open Roads (ORD) is a plus
Coordinate design development and assisting with technical direction to other design staff
Coordinate with the design team to achieve quality deliverables within the established schedule and budget
Assist with the development of specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports
Establish working relationships and interface with client technical staff and project managers
Mentor supporting Civil design staff
Qualification
Required
A minimum of 4 years of experience in all technical aspects of roadway design including highway, reduced conflict intersections, roundabouts, intersections, widenings, and bike/ped design
Experience with using MicroStation and Geopak are required
Familiarity with the latest edition of AASHTO Green Book and MUTCD
Strong inter-personal skills for client and other engineering discipline interaction
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a master's degree in Civil Engineering
NC PE license is required
Preferred
Experience in Open Roads (ORD) is a plus
Experience with NCDOT and other NC municipalities is a plus
Prior experience leading design efforts would be a plus
