Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is seeking a Flight Test Engineer to perform instrumentation related activities and manage pre-mission planning and post-mission reporting. The role involves creating modification packages for USAF aircraft, conducting engineering analysis, and leading test missions.

Responsibilities

Creates, modifies, and reviews temporary modification packages for USAF aircraft and systems

Performs engineering analysis (to include electrical, mechanical, thermal, and aerodynamic) and the design of modifications

Contributes to airworthiness documentation, briefings, and engineering work

Contribute to ground test plans, flight test plans, test cards, flight test safety plans, and other similar test artifacts under the direction of a senior engineer

Schedule resources for tests and coordinate with many engineering disciplines and outside agencies to ensure successful test execution

Lead test mission briefs and execution of test as a Test Conductor or Test Director

Complete post-test mission reporting requirements

Required

Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in all phases of planning, executing, and managing flight tests

Experience implementing or supporting implementation of temporary modifications on test aircraft--e.g., T2 mods

Experience with aircraft flight test instrumentation

Experience with avionics systems, engineering product creation and analysis

Experience in data analysis principles and practices as well as tools (MATLAB, python)

Maturity and professionalism to lead the execution of a flight test missions, briefings and oversee team of discipline engineers to support Flight Test Operations

Work well in a team environment as well as independently

Experience generating test plans, flight test mission material, post-mission, and detailed final reports

Position requires willingness to accept changing and evolving roles & responsibilities in support of customers' requirements and need

Bachelor's degree in a STEM field

Secret clearance
