The role involves driving community programs, experimenting to learn community needs, and managing Discord and Creator Programs to keep the community energized and engaged.

Responsibilities

Grow the community: Drive growth and retention through our Creator Program, Discord, and grassroots experiments
Prototype → Scale: Launch scrappy experiments (e.g. ranked tournaments, live events, Discord activations, Creator Program optimizations and incentives), gather learnings, then systematize into repeatable programs
Make Discord thrive: Increase active communicators, create eventful social moments, and ensure power users feel energized and connected
Empower creators: Recruit and partner with content creators, run events with them, and design programs that amplify their reach and impact. This program is mature and ready to take off further, garnering over 1 billion views across social platforms
Lead contractors & tools: Guide contracted community developers and a tools intern to scale programs, build automations, and run specialized initiatives
Build community like product: Treat community like a product surface - form hypotheses, test them, track KPIs, and double down on what works
Be the expert: Advise the whole team on how to build for and with our community, ensuring player needs inform product direction

Required

3–6+ years building and scaling engaged online communities (gaming, Discord, creators, or similar)
Designed and run programs that started small but grew into scalable systems
Hypothesis-driven; you run experiments, analyze results, and refine quickly
Deep knowledge of Discord culture, bots, and best practices for engagement at scale
Comfortable working with streamers, hosting events, and even being a community-facing presence yourself
Skilled with AI tools to prototype and automate systems, Google Sheets, Zapier, and even bots
Entrepreneurial, scrappy, and ready to run with problems without waiting for permission
