RF/Sensor Engineering Intern
Penn State University is seeking undergraduate students to join their Applied Communications Department as RF/Sensor Engineering Interns. The role involves researching device information, designing hardware circuits, developing sample code, testing designs, and creating documentation for RF, Sensor, and IoT devices.

Responsibilities
Research and summarize information about the device and use cases for it
Design and build a hardware circuit
Develop/adapt sample code to apply to your device
Test and evaluate your design and code
Create a documentation package in the form of schematics and assembly drawings with notes, source code with comments, pictures, and a concise description of the device operation
Qualification
Required
Current Penn State employee or student, or external applicant
Undergraduate student in a related engineering field
Ability to obtain a government security clearance
U.S. citizenship
Successful completion of background check(s)
Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen
Preferred
Understanding of electrical schematics
Desire for hands-on work
Interest in RF Communication
Arduino hardware and software
Microcontrollers (PIC, Atmel, etc.)
Raspberry Pi, C, C++, and/or Python
Soldering
General lab instrument use
Electrical bread-boarding
