Air Quality Manager at Ames Research Center, CA
Tetra Tech, an industry leader in engineering and consulting, is seeking candidates for a full-time Air Quality Manager position at NASA Ames Research Center (ARC), CA. The role involves overseeing air quality compliance activities and ensuring adherence to local, state, and federal regulations related to air emissions management.

Responsibilities
Serve as the lead for the Air Quality Program, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to air emissions management
Coordinate all activities related to air quality compliance including permitting, inspections, monitoring, and reporting
Conduct inspections and assessments of air emission sources and pollution control equipment to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
Prepare and submit required reports to regulatory agencies, including greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions calculations and compliance documentation to include development of potential to emit (PTE) calculations
Provide technical guidance and support to site personnel regarding air quality issues and compliance requirements
Collect data and maintain a database of ozone depleting substances (ODS) and ODS-related information, including but not limited to site activities using ODS, details of replacement or phaseout efforts, and usage and inventory data, and leak rate calculations and repairs
Evaluate VOC emission content of materials/chemicals to ensure compliance with facility permits
Develop and deliver training programs on air quality compliance for staff and stakeholders
Comply with California AQ requirements to include CARB PERP for Bay Area Air Quality Management District (BAAQMD), CARB off-road diesel equipment regulation, CARB Large Spark Ignition regulation, CARB on-road equipment regulation, CARB CLEAN Truck check Regulation, CARB Refrigerant Management Program, CARB HARP, CARB ATCM, and perform chemical reviews
Prepare regulatory reviews of proposed or amended regulations/requirements
Maintain accurate records of air quality compliance activities and ensure documentation is up to date
Maintain EPA Method 9 and/or Method 22 certification and perform visible emissions monitoring and reporting
Qualification
Required
Bachelor of Science degree in environmental engineering, science, or related field is required
6+ years of direct experience with air emissions management is required
Knowledge of California air quality regulations is required
Maintaining EPA Method 9 and/or Method 22 certifications is required
Must possess a valid driver's license
Must be detail oriented to properly document all environmental compliance activities occurring across ARC
This position requires the candidate to be a U.S. Citizen due to the projects they will be working on
This position requires a CAC card, CUI Enclave Access and/or a Security Clearance, a background check will be completed
Candidate must speak, read and understand the English language
Accurate report writing is a requirement of this position
Excellent oral and written communication skills for preparing and presenting planning reports and projects
Candidate must be proficient with Microsoft Office 365 products
Preferred
Experience with NASA data management system is preferred
