Director of Production – Lighting, Video & Audio Systems
Victory Pyrotechnics & Special Effects is a premier production company dedicated to transforming events into unforgettable experiences. The Director of Production will lead the planning, coordination, and execution of lighting, video, and audio systems for events, ensuring high-quality technical solutions and establishing standards for the production division.

Responsibilities
Lighting Design & Oversight: Lead the design and execution of event lighting systems. Program and operate consoles (MA2/MA3, Chamsys, or equivalent), create visualizations in Capture 3D/Depence², and deliver rigs that are both artistic and technically precise
Special Effects Integration: Design and program lighting and video systems that incorporate pyrotechnics and atmospheric effects. Collaborate with FX operators to align cues, ensuring special effects are seamlessly integrated into show designs
Video Systems & Media Integration: Manage video workflows including LED walls, projection systems, and media servers (Resolume, Novastar, Disguise). Oversee signal distribution and ensure smooth operation from pre-production through live execution
Audio Integration: Manage small- to mid-scale sound systems, including console operation (Midas, DiGiCo, SSL), wireless/RF coordination, and advanced system optimization and tuning
Networking & Signal Flow: Build and troubleshoot DMX, ArtNet, and sACN networks across lighting, video, and audio systems. Ensure redundancy and reliability in live environments
Pre-Production & Gear Prep: Advance shows, coordinate with venues, and oversee gear prep in the shop. Maintain and scale equipment packages for a variety of event sizes
Team & On-Site Leadership: Supervise crews during load-in, rehearsal, and live execution. Direct technicians and support staff, manage timelines, and ensure smooth transitions from setup to strike. Mentor junior technicians and set the technical standard for the division
Client Interaction & Sales Support: Participate in sales conversations, providing technical insight and helping scope projects that meet both creative and budget goals
Vendor & Resource Coordination: Source rental gear when needed and maximize in-house resources to provide turnkey event solutions
Safety & Compliance: Ensure adherence to rigging, power distribution, and OSHA safety standards. Operate lifts and supervise safe installation practices
Training & Development: Actively pursue continuing education and manufacturer training opportunities (lighting consoles, media servers, networking, special effects). Partner with leadership to bring new skills and technologies into Victory’s production capabilities
Division Development: Establish workflows, training standards, and scalable systems to grow Victory’s production services into a premier department
Qualification
Required
Must be at least 18 years old
Willingness to work outdoors, travel occasionally, and lift up to 50lbs
Available to work select evenings, weekends, and holidays
1–3 years of professional experience in lighting, video, or AV production
Extensive knowledge of lighting consoles (MA2/MA3; Chamsys/ETC)
Proficiency with Capture 3D or Depence² for previsualization and system design
Strong understanding of DMX networking (sACN, ArtNet) and lighting system architecture
Familiarity with LED walls, processors (Novastar/Analog Way), and media servers (Resolume/Disguise)
Hands-on experience with audio consoles (Midas, DiGiCo, SSL) and system integration
Ability to climb ladders, and operate lifts (forklift, scissor, boom)
Proven leadership in live event environments, with the ability to make confident decisions under pressure
Preferred
Experience With Client-facing Sales Or Tech Scoping Preferred
