Senior Propulsion Component Engineer

Responsibilities

Design propulsion system valves and actuators
Own all aspects of component design from concept to product realization
Generate detailed CAD models and manufacturing drawings
Perform fluid, thermal, and structural analysis as required
Work with the team and external sources to procure materials, fabricate parts, and complete assemblies
Conduct rigorous component design and qualification testing
Resolve technical issues with innovative and resourceful solutions

Required

Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field
5+ years of demonstrated experience in valve or component design
Hands-on experience working with fluid, electrical and mechanical systems
Demonstrated proficiency in CAD software with ability to learn new tools
Demonstrated ability in requirements definition, conceptual design, procurement, fabrication, assembly and testing of hardware
Flexible schedule and willing to travel as needed
Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State

Preferred

Experience designing and operating high reliability, high performance hardware
Experience with on-orbit propulsion components
Experience in a startup or agile development environment
Strong project management skills and effective communication of technical concepts across multi-disciplinary teams
