Scientist/Senior Scientist in AAV Testing and Characterization

Avirmax, Inc. is dedicated to innovating, developing, and manufacturing adeno-associated virus (AAV) vector mediated biotherapeutics. They are seeking a highly motivated and collaborative Biochemist/Chemist to support research efforts in discovering and developing novel AAV-based therapies, while also building and leading the Biochemical/Chemical Analytical team for AAV therapeutics development.

Responsibilities

Support research efforts to discover and develop novel AAV based therapies in a wide range of unmet medications
Help to build and lead the Biochemical/Chemical Analytical of AAV
Initiate projects under minimal supervision and execute results in a timely manner
Lead and direct the work of others in the same or cross functional teams
Write fluently experiment proposals, SOPs, internal reports, and drafts of publications
Communicate effectively within the project team, company, external collaborative teams and conferences

Required

Ph.D. with 5-10 years of relevant working experience
Demonstrated track record in quality control in adeno associated vector (AAV) or protein therapeutic development
Familiar and hands-on AAV quality and quantity analysis
Analytical method, validation and implementation
Highly motivated in an entrepreneurship environment
Deep knowledge in biological sciences that applies to daily work
Capable of problem solving independently
Familiar with a variety of the concepts, practices, and procedures in biological experiment design and execution
Very skillful in designing and interpreting data independently
Hands-on skills in gene therapy vector quality control and characterization
Cell culture, in vitro and ex vivo assay development
Gene therapy product in vitro and ex vivo evaluation
Ability to lead a team and report to management on key findings and achievement of milestones in research and development
Respectful, responsible, flexible and cooperative with internal and external customers
A wide degree of creativity and latitude are expected
Effective communication within the project team, company, external collaborative teams and conferences
Ability to write fluently experiment proposals, SOPs, internal reports, and drafts of publications
Experienced and work under Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) guideline
Solid tracking record in GLP study management
