Fall Resettlement Supplemental Services Intern
The International Rescue Committee (IRC) responds to humanitarian crises globally, helping individuals regain their health, safety, and dignity. The Resettlement Supplemental Services Intern will assist the Resettlement Supervisor in managing client files and service delivery to support refugees in their early resettlement stages.

Responsibilities
Assist in preparation of file set-up for all newly arrived and enrolled clients
Assist caseworkers with providing resettlement services
Upload client documents in an internal database
Assist in managing direct financial assistance for clients and reconciliation of credit card statements
Assist with service documentation through case notes and case file maintenance
Conduct quality control of case files to ensure compliance and completion
Administrative and clerical support to staff, including filing, copying, and distribution of client documents
Support the Resettlement Supervisor in additional tasks as necessary
Qualification
Required
Punctuality, excellent time management skills, and a flexible schedule
Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding client information
Excellent organizational and leadership skills
Strong Attention to detail
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Office and administration experience a plus, but training will be provided
Strong intercultural communication skills; demonstrated ability to work effectively with people from other cultural backgrounds
Technology requirements: Interns will be required to use their own technology tools to work on virtual opportunities. IRC is not responsible for any personal device expenses such as personal smartphones, tablets, hotspots, data charges, etc
All personal devices must: Be kept current with all operating system updates and security patches, Use a password or PIN with a minimum of 4 characters to log onto smartphones and tablets and 8 alpha and numeric characters for a laptop. Have the lock screen set to 10 minutes or less with a password required to unlock the device. Configurations must be set to delete all data or lock after 10 unsuccessful attempts to enter a password or PIN. The lockout period must be no less than 30 minutes
All offers are contingent on successfully passing background and criminal history checks as required by federal and state law or IRC policy
SUMMER: Minimum 15 hrs./wk. for 3 months FALL/SPRING: Minimum 15 hrs./wk. for 14 weeks
Primary availability during IRC business hours (M- F; 9 am-5:00 pm)
Preference given to applicants able to make a multi-term commitment
