Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable and secure software applications
Collaborate with front-end and back-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic
Maintain and enhance existing applications by fixing bugs and implementing new features
Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code; participate in code reviews and software design discussions
Work closely with stakeholders to gather business requirements and translate them into robust technical solutions
Design, implement, and maintain database schemas, tables, views, indexes, and stored procedures across relational and/or NoSQL systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server)
Monitor and optimize database performance; implement tuning strategies to ensure efficiency and reliability
Ensure data integrity, security, backup, and disaster recovery processes are in place and effective
Conduct database maintenance, upgrades, and migrations with minimal downtime
Develop and manage ETL processes and data integration pipelines
Identify and analyze logical database structures to meet current and future organizational needs
Develop and maintain a corporate data directory, including metadata and classification protocols
Establish and enforce database access controls and security procedures
Design, implement, and test database backup and recovery strategies
Analyze system requirements and recommend equipment or infrastructure changes as needed
Hire, train, and manage database analysts and technical staff
Schedule, organize, and assign tasks and projects across the database and development teams
Conduct performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and manage disciplinary actions in alignment with company policies
Develop and implement departmental budgets
Provide training guidelines and support for data-entry personnel, analysts, and end users
Collaborate cross-functionally with departments to refine systems and maximize data utility
Stay current with emerging database and software technologies through continued education and industry engagement
Perform other related duties as assigned

Required

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
5+ years of experience in software development
5+ years of experience in database management/administration
Strong proficiency in C# and a thorough understanding of other computer languages used in database development
Advanced knowledge of SQL and experience with database systems such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server
Experience with modern development frameworks and tools
Thorough understanding of database design, construction, and system installation
Strong troubleshooting and analytical abilities to identify and resolve issues efficiently
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively across teams and communicate complex technical information clearly
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Strong managerial and training capabilities for supervising and mentoring technical staff
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software tools

Preferred

Experience with data warehousing and business intelligence tools
