Responsibilities
Lead and mentor a team of 5–7 bioinformatics professionals
Oversee daily operations, ensuring sample throughput and turnaround time (TAT) targets are met
Manage and troubleshoot bioinformatics pipelines (Nextflow, Snakemake)
Support systems in both on-prem and AWS cloud environments
Ensure compliance with CAP, CLIA, ISO, FDA standards
Collaborate cross-functionally with lab scientists, IT, and engineering teams
Drive CI/CD adoption and maintain data integrity and secure archival
Qualification
Required
7+ years in bioinformatics, software engineering, or related field
Hands-on experience with Python, R, Shell scripting, SQL
Strong knowledge of AWS, CI/CD, and version control (Git)
Experience with NGS workflows, variant calling, and sequence alignment
Proven leadership in regulated environments (CAP, CLIA, HIPAA, FDA)
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Preferred
MSc or PhD in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, or related field
Experience with LIMS, variant interpretation platforms
Agile certification
