Responsibilities
Develop, test, and maintain software applications supporting EHRM requirements
Configure, modify, and deploy application code in compliance with VA-approved standards
Support interface management and system integration activities, including HL7/FHIR-based data exchange
Ensure all software aligns with VA security standards, including encryption, patching, and secure coding practices
Provide documentation, version control, and knowledge transfer in VA-approved repositories
Participate in defect resolution, unit testing, and validation prior to deployment
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline
3+ years of professional programming experience (Java, C#, Python, or similar)
Ensure all software aligns with VA security standards, including encryption, patching, and secure coding practices
Provide documentation, version control, and knowledge transfer in VA-approved repositories
Participate in defect resolution, unit testing, and validation prior to deployment
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust / Moderate Risk clearance
Preferred
Familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards (HL7, FHIR) preferred
Knowledge of secure coding practices and VA or federal system environments a plus
Experience working with Cerner (Oracle Health) electronic health record solutions and prior involvement with the VA Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) program is strongly preferred
