Junior Water Resources Engineer

The Junior Water Resources Engineer will assist Project Managers with data review, site review, data analysis, and civil engineering planning and design, while also preparing hydrological and hydraulic calculations and modeling.

Responsibilities

Developing hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) models such as HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMM-based programs, HY-8, and/or WinTR-55
Preparing plans, specifications and estimates and performing data collection and/or field work
Analyzing and designing hydraulic structures and flow systems
Preparing maps, exhibits and technical reports
Coordinating technical changes with project team members
Developing cost estimates and conduct quantity takeoffs for design projects
Supporting team in the design of water resources and drainage projects such as stormwater management systems, pipe hydraulics, bridge hydraulics, scour, floodplain evaluations, roadway drainage design, NPDES permit compliance, and water quality BMPs
Working closely with internal and external clients as part of a multi-discipline team. Meeting with and effectively communicating with technical team, project partners, and project stakeholders to coordinate project tasks

Required

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related Engineering degree
0-3 years of experience in related water resources design
Must demonstrate excellent speaking, oral and written communication skills
Computer skills (Microsoft Office) and experience with Bentley (MicroStation, Geopak, or Openroads)

Preferred

Engineer-in-Training (EIT) preferred or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
H&H modeling experience is a plus
