Responsibilities

Define and evolve cloud infrastructure strategy (with emphasis on AWS), ensuring systems are secure, scalable, and cost-efficient

Provide architectural guidance on Kubernetes/EKS clusters, container orchestration, and workload optimization

Lead the design and adoption of CI/CD pipelines and related automation for consistent, reliable software delivery

Establish and enforce monitoring, observability, and alerting standards, including logging, metrics, tracing, and actionable alerts

Partner with teams to define SLOs, SLIs, and error budgets that align with customer and business needs

Drive best practices in infrastructure as code (IaC), configuration management, and automated environment provisioning

Support teams in building highly available, fault-tolerant, and disaster-resilient systems across multiple regions

Mentor engineers and tech-leads across Filevine on reliability principles, performance optimization, and operational excellence

Required

Expertise in Cloud-Native Infrastructure (AWS): Deep knowledge of designing, implementing, and managing scalable, secure, and cost-efficient cloud infrastructure, with a strong emphasis on AWS services

Proficiency in Kubernetes/EKS and Container Orchestration: Extensive experience with Kubernetes (particularly AWS EKS) for container orchestration, workload optimization, and managing distributed systems

Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Strong skills in implementing and advocating for IaC practices, including tools like Terraform or CloudFormation, for automated and repeatable environment provisioning

CI/CD Pipeline Design and Automation: Proven ability to design, build, and optimize CI/CD pipelines to enable consistent, reliable, and automated software delivery processes

Observability and Monitoring Expertise: In-depth knowledge of establishing monitoring, observability, and alerting systems, including logging, metrics, tracing, and actionable alerts to ensure system reliability

Defining SLOs, SLIs, and Error Budgets: Experience in partnering with teams to define service-level objectives (SLOs), service-level indicators (SLIs), and error budgets that align with enterprise-scale customer and business requirements
