They are seeking a Pharmacy Intern to work under the supervision of a Pharmacist, responsible for formulating, preparing, and delivering medications and pharmaceutical supplies, while participating in patient care activities and maintaining documentation.

Responsibilities

Interprets physician’s orders checking for correct dose, drug, route, rate and frequency of administration. Reviews patient profile for allergies, duplication of drugs and drug interactions and accurately enters orders into computer under the supervision of a pharmacist

Aseptically reconstitutes, filters, prepares and labels parenteral, sterile products, and chemotherapy, and dispenses other medications under the supervision of a pharmacist

Maintains documentation and record keeping

Participates in patient care activities such as drug use monitoring, pharmacokinetics dosing service and nutritional support services

Provides drug information to physicians, nurses, and other members of the team in collaboration with a pharmacist

Participates in special projects, such as data entry or research

Completes all Spectrum Health assigned competencies by assigned due dates

Required

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent

Enrolled in accredited PharmD program

LIC-Pharmacist Intern - STATE_MI State of Michigan required

Previous hospital pharmacy experience
