Responsibilities
Design, analyze (including thermal considerations), simulate, and test power conversion circuitry potentially utilizing any standard non-isolated power conversion topologies (buck, boost, buck-boost) including modules and discrete designs
Guide Electronic Computer-Aided Design (ECAD) personnel through PWB layout of power circuitry and technical drawing creation
Perform design work within the bounds of a given schedule
Present reviews of technical data to program leadership and technical staff
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
Minimum of five (5) years of relevant professional experience in design, analysis, simulation, and/or test experience with linear converters
Experience with any of the following non-isolated converter topologies: buck, boost, and/or buck-boost
Experience with design, analysis, and test with analog electronic design and analysis, such as FET, BJT, and/or Op-amp circuits
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Preferred
Basic understanding of commonly used power conversion concepts, components, and techniques and/or motor drive control schemes
Lab experience specific to power electronics and/or controls electronics
Experience with use of software tools for electrical circuit simulation and/or printed circuit board layout such as Mentor Graphics DxDesigner, and/or Hyperlynx, SIMPLIS, Saber and/or analysis tool Mathcad & LTspice
Document design and circuit performance verification experience
Experience with performing circuit card assembly-level power architecture trades, and/or with system-level power architecture trades, including power converter specification development experience
Design, analysis, and/or test experience with any of the following isolated converter topologies: flyback, half-bridge, full-bridge, and/or push-pull including stability
