Administrative Associate 1-Surgery (Knoxville)
The University of Tennessee Health Science Center is seeking an Administrative Associate 1 to provide administrative support in an academic setting for the Division of Cardiac and Thoracic Surgery. This role involves managing calendars, preparing documents, maintaining credentials, and assisting with faculty evaluations.

Responsibilities
Maintains physicians' academic calendars and communicates appropriately to physicians' clinical staff, GSM staff, and department of surgery staff
Prepares and/or provides teaching and academic meeting documents in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Updates CVs for each faculty member and compiles and tracks all CME credits and certifications
Assists in compiling books, chapters, and journal articles for publishing
Prepares and maintains physicians’ monthly on-call schedules in the electronic call system (PerfectServe) and distributes schedules to clinical and administrative staff
Prepares reimbursement requests for all physicians’ memberships, certifications, professional societies, reappointments, state, and DEA licenses
Maintains physician credentialing for appointment and reappointment for hospital medical staff privileges
Assists faculty in preparing promotion documents for submission to the Department Promotion and Tenure Committee and prepares documents for faculty evaluations for full-time faculty
Enters academic activities in Digital Measures and schedules individual evaluations
Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or GED. (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)
Six (6) months of experience in an administrative office setting
Ability to function independently
Excellent communication skills and phone etiquette
Excellent computer skills
Knowledge of medical terminology and transcription
Knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook email
