Responsibilities
Translate various types of documents, including legal, technical, medical, and marketing materials from Chinese to English and vice versa, ensuring accuracy and clarity
Provide live interpretation services during meetings, conferences, or phone calls, enabling clear communication between Chinese and English-speaking parties
Adapt translations to ensure they are culturally appropriate for the target audience, considering idiomatic expressions, cultural references, and tone
Review and revise translated materials to ensure they are free from errors and convey the intended meaning accurately
Translate subtitles, captions, or scripts for videos, webinars, and other multimedia content, maintaining the correct tone and meaning
Work closely with other translators, editors, and project managers to ensure consistency and quality across all translations
Manage multiple translation projects simultaneously, adhering to deadlines and client requirements
Maintain glossaries, translation memory, and other language tools to ensure consistent use of terminology
Qualification
Required
Native or near-native proficiency in both Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) and English
Proven experience as a translator or interpreter, with a portfolio of translated work
Excellent understanding of cultural differences between Chinese-speaking regions and English-speaking countries
Strong attention to detail, with the ability to maintain the original tone and meaning in translations
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote work environment
Preferred
Experience with translation tools such as CAT (Computer-Assisted Translation) tools is a plus
