Outside Sales Representative
Talbert Building Supply is seeking an Outside Sales Representative to enhance their sales of residential and light commercial building products. The role involves maintaining and growing a customer base, ensuring exceptional service, and collaborating with team members to meet sales goals.

Responsibilities
Maintain and grow customer base across residential and light commercial building material categories through effective prospecting, account qualifying, sales development, quoting, and customer follow-up to ensure sales and profit goals are met or exceeded
Formulate accurate and complete project-specific customer requirements through plan review, regular site visits, and in-depth customer discussions to ensure correct product selection and application
Effectively communicate with diverse levels of customers, vendors, and team members to verify expectations are clear and aligned
Work with the Talbert product specialists to sell the full scope of our product and service offerings
Provide complete plan details and take-off requirements to the Talbert Estimating Department to support accurate and timely completion of plan estimates
Educate customers and internal team on new products, services, industry trends, and effective installation
Offer the benefits of the Talbert Installed Sales Team where appropriate and coordinate with the team to facilitate installs and service requests
Place special orders with vendors or ensure that special order details are communicated to a Sales Coordinator for accurate and timely ordering
Review quotes, orders, POs, vendor confirmations, and all process documents that require accuracy
Communicate delivery and pick up requirements with a Sales Coordinator and/or Dispatch teams to optimize journey costs while adhering to the company delivery policy
Communicate with the VP Sales, Branch Managers, and Talbert Purchasing on any large or special projects to ensure proper material coverage at optimum pricing
Make small fill-in deliveries if necessary, in a pickup truck
Work with Talbert Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable to address any questions or issues
Perform regular account evaluation for sales and profitability to balance account viability versus future time efforts
Schedule regular customer touch bases and account reviews to gather service level feedback and ensure expectations are being met or exceeded
Work with customers and the Talbert team to address and effectively resolve complaints
Regularly provide market intelligence and feedback, including service level feedback, pricing, competition, and market developments to the VP of Sales and branch General Managers

Required

Must be organized and detail-oriented with a strong will to meet deadlines and project goals
Must possess excellent interpersonal skills yet able to work alone
General computer skills are necessary with a background in Microsoft programs
Learn and use internal company systems and software
A satisfactory driving record required
Adhere to all company policies and procedures
