William & Mary Libraries is seeking a Director of Financial Systems responsible for the effective and efficient operations of the Workday Finance System and financial reporting for the University and Virginia Institute of Marine Science (VIMS). The role involves managing data control and ensuring the accuracy of financial data and compliance with regulations.

Responsibilities

Manage the daily operations for W&M and VIMS Workday Finance ensuring accuracy of interfaces, financial data and security for the module and information exchange of data with the Commonwealth of Virginia system - Cardinal
Maintain centralized daily production operations responsibilities for the University and VIMS

Qualification

Workday Finance SystemEnterprise Resource Platform (ERP)Accounting principlesData analysis softwareOperations managementMS OfficeSQL-based programsSystem implementationsCommunication skills

Required

Bachelors or advanced degree in a business-related field with an emphasis on accounting, and management information systems, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
Progressive operational and reporting experience in a central business office supporting a diverse business environment similar to higher education
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
Experience with cloud-based Enterprise Resource Platform (ERP)
Proficient with databases and tools for accessing and analyzing data
Demonstrated ability to analyze regulations and accounting practices
Experience in operations management
Experience with the use of a wide range of technology tools including MS Office, and data analysis software including SQL-based programs
Experience aligning system functionality with operational, reporting, and compliance requirements

Preferred

Governmental managerial experience
Experience in higher education
Experience with Commonwealth of Virginia accounting policies
Experience with Workday and Banner Student Module or other similar ERP Systems
Experience testing and evaluating system functionality
Experience communicating systems complexities to non-systems-oriented users
Knowledge of system implementations and configurations across an operationally diverse environment
