Responsibilities
Direct, maintain and enforce overall department and employee cooperation with the specific objective of complying with the General Mission Statement of Gerrity’s Supermarket
Maintain consistent and direct communication with Store Management on a day to day basis
Maintain a regular physical presence in each department to monitor, control and eliminate customer service and/or employee issues
Maintain a competent knowledge of all department policies/procedures
Monitor and walk departments reviewing overall sanitation, general presentation, product stock levels and that sale items are available
Walk thru each department with the last person leaving
Monitor outside conditions, cleanliness and weather related
Maintain presence on front end the last 15-20 minutes the store is open
Fill out closing manager walk checklist on a daily basis and review with store manager areas in need of attention
All doors sealed and locked, safe locked, alarms set
Monitor and direct employees as required to manage outside shopping carts to ensure availability for customer use
Monitor and maintain building parameter and parking areas overall sanitation
Communicate any maintenance issues to Store Manager
Maintain and monitor overall store security in order to limit or prevent customer or employee theft including checking employees bags when leaving after store close
Qualification
Required
2-5 years of progressively experience in the grocery, retail, or food service industry
Ability to direct, maintain and enforce overall department and employee cooperation
Maintain consistent and direct communication with Store Management on a day to day basis
Maintain a regular physical presence in each department to monitor, control and eliminate customer service and/or employee issues
Maintain a competent knowledge of all department policies/procedures
