Electromechanical Engineer
Integrated Power Services (IPS) is a leading service provider offering electromechanical and power management solutions. They are seeking an Electromechanical Field Service Technician who will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain equipment while providing exceptional customer service in demanding industrial environments.

Responsibilities
Represent IPS in a knowledgeable and professional manner, maintaining strong customer relationships
Perform advanced diagnostics, including vibration analysis, thermographic imaging, and electrical testing as needed
Conduct motor removal, installation, troubleshooting, and repair for AC/DC motors in industrial and mining environments
Carry out precision tasks such as shaft alignment, bearing replacement, seal setting, and torquing critical components to specifications
Provide on-the-job training and mentorship for field service technicians in advanced electrical and mechanical skills
Assist with proposals, job walks, and defining work scopes for customer projects (preventive maintenance, reliability, motor change-outs, testing, etc.)
Ensure compliance with all IPS policies, procedures, and safety requirements, including completion of field service safety checklists
Utilize test equipment such as Megger®, PdMA MCE, Multimeter, DLRO, and other diagnostic tools
Perform DC motor/generator commutator inspections, including evaluation of commutator condition, brush holders, brush wear, and mica depth
Clean electro-mechanical equipment using methods such as bead blasting, ice blasting, and solvent cleaning
Prepare detailed service and technical reports with findings and recommendations
Think creatively and problem-solve in challenging environments to minimize customer downtime
Work independently or as part of a team to complete projects safely and effectively
Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts and IPS Engineering to overcome advanced failures and repairs
Qualification
Required
4+ years of hands-on AC/DC motor service experience (mining, dragline, or heavy industrial environment preferred)
Strong skills in vibration analysis, alignment, and bearing inspections
Proven ability to lead teams and train technicians in the field
Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow procedures precisely
Excellent problem-solving skills; able to adapt and think outside the box under pressure
Strong customer focus with professional communication skills
Basic computer literacy and technical report writing ability
Valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record
Ability to travel locally and overnight, with availability for overtime, weekends, and on-call assignments
Solid math skills, including fractions and percentages
Preferred
PdMA testing experience or equivalent diagnostic equipment
Vibration Analysis ISO CAT II certification
Experience installing and troubleshooting Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) is a plus
