HUMAN RESOURCES PARTNER MANAGER
The University of Alabama at Birmingham is seeking a Human Resources Partner Manager to lead and manage HR services for a large academic unit. This role involves collaborating with executive leadership and Central HR to coordinate strategic HR initiatives and ensure effective execution of core HR functions.

Responsibilities
Serve as a strategic HR advisor to unit leadership and internal stakeholders
Manage day-to-day HR operations and partner closely with Central HR to ensure alignment and compliance
Lead, communicate, and implement HR initiatives, policies, and process changes
Supervise internal HR processes and maintain full documentation according to UAB policies
Develop, update, and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for HR within the unit
Serve as an internal consultant on employee relations, staffing strategies, performance management, and workforce planning
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and university HR policies and regulations
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in any discipline required; degrees in Human Resources, Business, or related fields are preferred
Minimum of ten (10) years of related human resources experience in areas such as HR operations in complex organizational settings, employee relations or labor relations, compensation or classification, benefits coordination, strategic workforce planning, HR compliance or policy development
Preferred
Strong strategic thinking and organizational awareness
Demonstrated leadership in HR project management or policy implementation
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Familiarity with enterprise-level HR systems (e.g., Taleo, Oracle, PeopleSoft)
Experience in higher education or public sector HR environments
