Responsibilities
Lead a multidisciplinary team in the design and execution of experiments to support research goals towards the development of a new type of cell analyzers
Make and guide key technical decisions throughout the course of research and development activities
Perform hands-on laboratory work as part of active experimental programs
Coordinate closely with internal teams and external collaborators to align project milestones and deliverables
Prepare and present project status updates and technical reports to stakeholders
Establishes and monitors direct report performance and development goals, assigns accountabilities, sets objectives, establishes priorities, and provides continuous feedback and recognition on performance
Qualification
Required
Ph.D. in Engineering, Physics, or a closely related field is preferred
Minimum five years of relevant industry experience
Proven experience integrating complex, automated life sciences or clinical systems
Strong understanding of in-vitro diagnostics instrument and/or consumables design
Expert level knowledge and experience in one or more of the following: Imaging optic design and imaging cameras / sensors, Cellular imaging processing and analysis, Electrodes, electronics, and cellular impedance techniques such as the Coulter counter
Solid foundation in analytical techniques, experimental design, and statistical analysis
Solid leadership skills with demonstrated knowledge and understanding of staff management practices and processes and the ability to establish accountabilities and expectations and manage performance to achieve results
Demonstrated critical thinking and analytical skills, as well as the ability to handle complex situations and demonstrate sound judgment and problem-solving
Exceptional oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to diverse audiences
Preferred
Experience in in vitro diagnostics, including development, testing, or system integration
Supervisory/management experience preferred
