Responsibilities

Contribute technical expertise on ITS, ATMS, and transportation technology projects

Develop design plans, specifications, and systems engineering documentation in line with FHWA guidelines

Support planning efforts, including master plans, concept of operations, and policy documents

Conduct field work, equipment testing, and infrastructure verification

Prepare technical reports, specifications, and electrical design documents

Apply knowledge across the ITS/ATMS lifecycle—from planning and design to implementation and operations

Stay current on emerging technologies and assess applications for transportation safety, operations, and maintenance

Assist with proposals, marketing, and participation in industry events

Qualification

Required

Bachelor's degree in Civil, Electrical, Systems Engineering, or related field

5-10 years of relevant ITS/ATMS experience

PE license required

Familiarity with FHWA Systems Engineering processes

Willingness to travel for projects and client needs

Strong technical background in ITS/ATMS planning, design, and systems engineering

Effective problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills

Ability to build strong client and team relationships

Self-motivated and adaptable to evolving technologies and project needs
