Responsibilities

Develops processes, methods, tooling, and production controls for new products and programs; supervises their assembly and proofing
Supports production to resolve any welding/brazing issues
Coordinates new product development and cost reduction activities
Manages capital equipment planning and procurement activities
Plans, supervises and executes work measurement, and defines operations and operation balance to TAKT time
Plans, justifies and implements facility changes to produce the forecasted volume of product economically
Supports Lean Manufacturing and Flow Manufacturing
Supports and leads 5S activities
Participates in and leads Kaizen events
Generates Welding Procedure Specification/Procedure Qualification Record and all other supporting documents
Oversee administration of testing and qualification of welders and brazers

Required

This position also requires knowledge of formal problem solving methods along with experience with financial controls and product costing
Previous experience with new products and process introductions along with a working knowledge of lean manufacturing practices and procedures is also required
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Applications (Word, Excel, Access, & PowerPoint) as well as Internet software and E-mail is required
The employee is occasionally required to lift up to 40 pounds
Must be able to travel up to 10% of time

Preferred

This position requires a Bachelor's Degree in Weld Engineering, with three (3) to five (5) years of progressive, hands on weld engineering experience preferred

Bonus eligible position
3 weeks of paid vacation, 5 sick days, 3 floating holidays, and 10 standard holidays per calendar year (6.5 weeks in total)
