Special Olympics Game Day Operations Coordinator
The Town of Brookline is seeking a Special Olympics Game Day Operations Coordinator to assist with the management of Special Olympics Athletes, volunteers, and coaches. The role involves providing transportation to competitions and managing game day operations for teams and athletes.

Responsibilities
Drive Special Olympics Athletes, Volunteers, Coaches, and Equipment in 12-passenger van and/or a 15 passenger mini bus
Assist Coaches with managing Brookline Special Olympics team during practices, games, and tournaments
Attend weekly Special Olympics sports practices during the season
Communicate respectfully and effectively with parents, athletes, coaches, volunteers, and the Therapeutic Recreation Specialist
Foster an inclusive and supportive environment for all participants by adapting activities and directions to meet individual needs when necessary
Manage behavioral concerns with assistance of coaches and volunteers when necessary
Follow all Brookline Recreation and Town rules/laws/policies as required by professional staff
Perform similar or related work as required or as situation dictates
Qualification
Required
Valid MA Driver's License, Class D required with a clean driving record
Strong interpersonal skills required; ability to work cooperatively and communicate well with others, verbally and in writing
Hours vary based on program needs, but must have weekend availability
Preferred
Experience working with individuals who have disabilities strongly preferred
Active enrollment or graduated with degree in program such as Therapeutic Recreation, Recreation Management, Sport Management, Special Education, and related fields is preferred
Experience driving a passenger van a plus
