Responsibilities

Lead hardware and systems decisions through all phases of research & development, engineering design cycles, and validation through productization
Work with interdisciplinary teams and limited supervision, developing complex high-speed low-power small form factor hardware designs including: camera, display and illumination hardware module development, and supporting driver electronics
Rapid prototyping, simulation, development, and testing of hardware proof of concepts, products, and experiments
Define and execute test plans for design verification, experiments, and compliance testing
Provide technical leadership in vendor discussions while fostering strong vendor partnerships
Communicate complex system trade-offs and provide recommendations to enable product decisions

Required

8+ years of professional experience in hardware product development
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent relevant experience in an applicable field
Solid foundation of electrical engineering principles with expertise in analog and digital design
Experience designing hardware, firmware, and software that interfaces across multiple modules in a system
Experience designing and validating display modules, camera sensors, and compute (SoCs, GPUs, ASICs) systems
Experience in high-speed and mixed-signal schematic capture and PCB design using Cadence OrCAD and other CAD tools
Experience using electrical bench equipment (power supplies, oscilloscopes, network analyzers, logic analyzers, & function generators)
Skilled in managing vendors and driving collaboration with CM and JDM partners to achieve development goals
Technical communication skills (verbal and written). Experience interfacing with cross-functional teams and driving data-driven decisions

Preferred

Experience launching high-volume products into the market
Coding skills in C, C++, Python, etc
Display system architecture and module design experience
Camera system architecture and module design experience
Experience with high-speed interfaces such as MIPI D-PHY/C-PHY, MIPI CSI-2, MIPI DSI-2, DisplayPort, USB, and PCIe
Experience with uLED/LED, LCOS, and LCD technologies and manufacturing processes
Experience using optical metrology and test equipment (optical power meters, spectrometers, photodetectors, & integration spheres)
