Children's Aid is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing support and resources to individuals and families. They are seeking a Prevention Intern for a 12-month, part-time, paid position to learn about and work within a NYS OASAS Prevention program, focusing on community needs and prevention education.

Responsibilities

Understand and promote the organization’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values to ensure alignment with organizational policies and procedures

Prevention Interns will learn the process of identifying the needs of a community

Interns will learn about and utilize Evidence Based Programs (EBP) to assess needs of individuals, families, and the community

Interns will develop and implement Environmental Change Strategy efforts

Interns will participate in community engagement; attend community meetings, collaborate with community coalitions and task forces, and strengthen community relationships

Interns will work closely with community stakeholders including service providers, schools, law enforcement, and local businesses to provide prevention education and tools

Interns will aid the agency with development and implementation of new workshops and initiatives to serve the community

Interns will be provided with training and close supervision to be able to complete all tasks

Interns will market, recruit and provide workshops to children, teens and families within Manhattan and Brooklyn

Perform other duties as assigned
