Head of Clinical Data Partnerships
Ruby Robotics is a company focused on improving patient outcomes through tissue insights and AI-driven analytics. They are seeking a Head of Clinical Data Partnerships to lead operations and strategy for acquiring and managing relationships with hospitals and biopharma companies, ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks and aligning partnerships with product goals.
Responsibilities
Define and execute the company’s data acquisition and partnership strategy with hospitals, labs, vendors, and consortia
Build and maintain strong relationships with clinical partners, biopharma collaborators, and data providers
Lead negotiations on data use agreements (DUAs), licensing, and collaborations, ensuring compliance with HIPAA, GDPR, and other regulatory frameworks
Partner with legal, clinical, product, and ML teams to align data partnerships with research and development needs
Ensure acquired datasets meet the quality, diversity, and scale required for robust AI model development
Represent the company at industry conferences, consortia, and partner meetings to strengthen visibility and foster new and existing partnerships
Develop scalable processes for onboarding new datasets and partners efficiently
Identify new opportunities for collaboration across hospitals, academic centers, and vendors
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Life Sciences, Business, or related field (advanced degree a plus)
3+ years of experience in data partnerships, business development, or clinical partnerships, ideally in healthcare, life sciences, or AI
Demonstrated success negotiating complex data use agreements with hospitals, labs, or data vendors
Familiarity with healthcare compliance and regulatory frameworks (HIPAA, GDPR, IRB processes)
Excellent relationship management and communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Track record of building and managing data or clinical partnerships
Strong analytical skills and creative mindset
Works well in a small, agile team
Preferred
Current, extensive network within hospitals, pathology labs, or clinical data vendors
Experience working in digital pathology, medical imaging, or precision medicine
Understanding of data infrastructure, interoperability, and dataset curation for ML/AI applications
Experience working in a startup or high-growth company environment
