JURISolutions Legal (JSL) is seeking a Healthcare Regulatory Associate to join their mid-sized law firm client in Richmond, VA. This associate will provide legal representation for healthcare practitioners in licensing and credentialing matters, manage audits and appeals, and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

Defend healthcare practitioners in licensing and credentialing matters with the Department of Health, Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA), Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS), Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), third party payers, hospital systems and related entities
Provide legal representation for practitioners in licensing Board investigations, including informal and formal administrative hearings, and for matters related to DEA certificates of registration, as well as show cause hearings
Manage audits and appeals involving DMAS, CMS and third-party payers
Assist with credentialing by third-party payers and hospital medical staff
Advise on credentialing issues and peer review processes
Ensure compliance with laws and regulation, risk management, medical record documentation, HIPAA, and cybersecurity issues

Required

3-5 years' experience in healthcare regulatory matters
Actively licensed in Virginia
Direct knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations governing health care providers
Experience with False Claims Act issues
Experience with Stark/Anti-Kickback compliance
