US Financial Controller
Empresa Confidencial is an Independent Power Producer (IPP) with a presence in the United States, currently seeking a Financial Controller to join their US operations. The role involves ensuring accurate financial reporting, overseeing accounting processes, and providing insights to management to support strategic decisions.

Responsibilities
Lead the accounting close process of US entities, overseeing the local finance team to ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end closings
Oversee the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with US GAAP and Group policies
Manage the consolidation process of US entities, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timely delivery of reports to headquarters
Coordinate the external audit process, acting as the main point of contact for auditors, and manage relationships with tax advisors and regulatory bodies
Strengthen and monitor internal controls, accounting policies, and compliance procedures in line with US regulations and Group standards
Review and analyze consolidated analytical P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements, identifying variances and ensuring the achievement of Group and US objectives
Manage financial debt reporting, covenant compliance, and related disclosures, providing accurate information to lenders and management
Provide technical accounting guidance on complex transactions and ensure proper documentation of accounting positions
Support budgeting and forecasting processes with a strong focus on accounting accuracy and financial control
Prepare ad hoc financial analyses to support audit requirements, debt management, and business case evaluations
Collaborate closely with Group finance and local teams, ensuring alignment across entities and proper consolidation
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field; CPA designation is required
8+ years of progressive experience in financial controlling, accounting, or financial planning roles
Prior experience at a Big4 accounting firm is required
Strong technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP; experience with IFRS and consolidation processes is highly valued
Previous experience in the renewable energy or infrastructure sector is required
Proven track record managing external audits and liaising with auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies
Hands-on experience with SAP is a plus
Advanced analytical and quantitative skills, with ability to work with large datasets
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present financial insights clearly
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment
High proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
Preferred
Experience with IFRS and consolidation processes is highly valued
Hands-on experience with SAP is a plus
Spanish is a plus
