Sewing Specialist - Temporary

Responsibilities
Responsible for all custom upholstery orders, providing support for standard production when required
Trains and learns a variety of sewing techniques by following training guidelines
Performs visual control of process to ensure that custom requests and customers’ needs/expectations are satisfied
Follows department area procedures and policies such as KANBAN, scrap/reprocessing, and work instructions. Responsible for utilizing multiple material for sewers utilizing KANBAN system
Following all applicable safety/housekeeping guidelines. Performs necessary preventative maintenance
Participates in a self-managed team. Assumes specific responsibilities on a rotating basis for activities/items such as team representative, team indicators, team meeting minutes, etc
May work on special projects/assignments upon request
Qualification
Required
One year sewing experience required
Ability to read and comprehend (in English) simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Documents may include Material Safety Data Sheets, work orders, work instructions, manuals, policies, and procedures, etc
High School Diploma or GED is preferred

Control Precision — The ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine or a vehicle to exact positions
Manual Dexterity — The ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects
Rate Control — The ability to time your movements or the movement of a piece of equipment in anticipation of changes in the speed and/or direction of a moving object or scene
Finger Dexterity — The ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects
Information Ordering — The ability to arrange things or actions in a certain order or pattern according to a specific rule or set of rules (e.g., patterns of numbers, letters, words, pictures, mathematical operations)
Near Vision — The ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer)
Visual Color Discrimination — The ability to match or detect differences between colors, including shades of color and brightness
Multilimbed Coordination — The ability to coordinate two or more limbs (for example, two arms, two legs, or one leg and one arm) while sitting, standing, or lying down. It does not involve performing the activities while the whole body is in motion
Deductive Reasoning — The ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense
Visualization — The ability to imagine how something will look after it is moved around or when its parts are moved or rearranged
Lifting/ Carry Weight - must frequently lift/carry up to 40 pounds
Sitting – requires sitting for prolonged periods of time
Standing /Walking – required in the performance of daily activities
Attendance – Regular attendance is required
Overtime – Must be able to work overtime, as required
