Responsibilities

Exhibits effective use of the Nursing Process in the delivery of patient care and while assisting physicians during procedures

Provides care based on physical, psycho/social, educational, safety and related criteria, appropriate to the ages of patients served in assigned areas

Exhibits responsibility for professional development and maintaining required clinical knowledge, technical skills, maintenance of equipment, training and credentials. Ensures cleanliness and/disinfection of endoscopes and other pertinent equipment while maintaining quality control measures

Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to: respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style

Other related duties as required

Remains knowledgeable on current federal, state and local laws, accreditation standards or regulatory agency requirements that apply to the assigned area of responsibility and ensures compliance with all such laws, regulations and standards

Required

Graduate of approved LPN training school

2 years of experience and demonstrated proficiency with advanced therapeutic endoscopy procedures with working knowledge of radiation safety and image storage guidelines

Current LPN License in the state of practice

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Excellent organizational skills

Good time management skills and self directed

Demonstrates Good Judgement

Good interpersonal skills

Delegation skills
