Responsibilities
Reviews projects and construction plans to ensure compliance with International Building Codes and City codes and ordinances
Issues building permits
Enforces International Building Codes, and City of Laredo ordinances
Provides customer service via email, phone, or in person
Prepares comments and feedback for customers, engineers, and designers, based on the International Building Codes, City’s Land Development Code, ordinances, and regulations adopted by The City of Laredo
Provides software and construction training for customers
Performs related work as required
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Building Construction, Engineering, Architecture, or related field
At least three (3) years of experience in building design, construction, or plan review
Valid Texas Driver License. If applicant holds an out-of-state license, a State of Texas Driver License must be obtained within 6 months of employment
International Code Council Building Plan Examiner Certification must be obtained within 12 months of employment
Preferred
Experience with International Building, Mechanical, Plumbing, National Electrical, Fire, Energy, and Residential Codes is preferred
International Code Council 1&2 Family Dwelling Inspector Certification is desirable
International Code Council Building Inspector Certification is desirable
