Responsibilities

Serve as lead contact for internal and external event scheduling, space reservations, and event planning logistics
Consult with event organizers to assess technical, cultural, and spiritual requirements; recommend room setups, A/V needs, and ceremonial accommodations
Oversee event execution, including managing room setups, vendor coordination, signage, and equipment use
Provide real-time support during events to ensure smooth operations and uphold CSED standards for hospitality, respect, and inclusivity
Collaborate with the Office of Physical Plant (OPP) and other campus units to address maintenance, custodial, and facility repair needs
Ensure daily readiness of public and sacred spaces, maintaining a clean, orderly, and accessible environment for all users
Conduct regular inspections and manage inventory of furnishings, ceremonial items, and A/V equipment
Support facility and event space improvement projects by coordinating logistics, vendor access, and communication between stakeholders
Maintain awareness of all building safety procedures, accessibility standards, and compliance regulations related to event management and facility usage
Serve as building emergency coordinator and respond to urgent operational issues
Liaise with student organizations, campus departments, and external groups to facilitate respectful, inclusive use of the space
Build positive working relationships with community partners, interfaith leaders, and student event planners

Required

Associate Degree
2+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted
Demonstrated experience in event planning, coordination, or venue operations
Strong customer service orientation and ability to manage complex logistics in a multi-use facility
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and event scheduling or facilities management software (e.g., EMS, 25Live)
Maintain awareness of all building safety procedures, accessibility standards, and compliance regulations related to event management and facility usage
Serve as building emergency coordinator and respond to urgent operational issues

Preferred

Interpersonal sensitivity to cultural and religious diversity; experience working with multi-faith or community-based programming is a plus
Knowledge of policies and procedures related to facilities management
