Baton Rouge Community College is seeking an Instructor of Graphic and Web Design to teach courses focusing on graphic design and web design principles. The instructor will foster a dynamic learning environment and guide students through hands-on projects, preparing them for successful employment in the graphic and web design industry.

Higher Education

Responsibilities

Teach the equivalent of five (5) face-to-face and online courses per semester (fall and spring)
College service (committee assignments, recruitment events, etc.)
Develop and revise curricula
Advise Graphic Arts and Web Design students
Professional development (conferences, workshops, publications, etc.)
Other duties as assigned

Required

Any master's degree with at least 18 graduate credit hours in graphic design, web design, interactive media, or digital art
At least five years working with Adobe Creative Cloud suite as demonstrated by a portfolio of creative work
At least five years in website development/design using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, etc. as demonstrated by a portfolio of creative work

Preferred

Master's degree in graphic design, web design, interactive media, or digital art
At least three years teaching college-level graphic design/web design courses (including serving as a graduate assistant) as demonstrated by a portfolio of student creative work
At least five years working with Adobe Creative Cloud suite as demonstrated by a portfolio of creative work
At least five years in website development/design using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, etc. as demonstrated by a portfolio of creative work
Experience teaching courses with learning management system (LMS) such as Canvas, Moodle, Blackboard, etc
Experience teaching dual enrollment/early college high school students
Experience with industry-based certifications (Adobe, CIW, etc.)
Curriculum development
Professional activity as a practicing graphic designer or web designer
Advanced graphic design skills using the Adobe Creative Cloud suite
Advanced front-end web development/design skills using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, etc
UI/UX design
Web hosting solutions
