Responsibilities
Teach at UATX, with emphasis on the history of political philosophy in our Intellectual Foundations and Ethics & Politics programs
Mentor undergraduate and (potentially) graduate students in close intellectual engagement
Contribute actively to the intellectual life of UATX, including participation in the annual Strauss Program
Organize an annual public lecture series on themes central to Mansfield’s work, inviting leading scholars and public intellectuals
Maintain an active program of research and publication at the highest level of the discipline
Serve as a central figure in shaping UATX’s reputation in political philosophy and civic thought
Qualification
Required
A record of distinguished—or developing but demonstrably promising—scholarship in political philosophy, showing clear potential to become a top scholar and teacher
Demonstrated excellence in teaching and student mentorship
Intellectual range spanning ancient, modern, and contemporary traditions
Commitment to preserving and advancing the legacy of Harvey C. Mansfield
