Ninyo & Moore, A SOCOTEC Company is seeking a Graduate (Staff) Geotechnical Engineer. The successful candidate will coordinate geotechnical evaluations, supervise drill rig crews, and prepare geotechnical reports among other responsibilities.

Responsibilities

Coordination and scheduling of geotechnical subsurface evaluations
Boring mark-out for utility clearance
Supervision of drill rig crews
Classification of soils and logging of borings, test pits, and cores
Performing floor-level surveys
Documentation of distressed structures
Assignment of lab testing
Geotechnical report preparation
Assignment and compilation of laboratory testing and geotechnical calculations, including calculations pertaining to shallow and deep foundations, slope stability analysis, and settlement

Required

B.S. in Civil or Geological or Geotechnical Engineering required
Entry-level with up to 2 years of experience, preferably with a geotechnical consulting firm performing duties described above
Understanding and knowledge of soil mechanics and geotechnical engineering
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Positive attitude
Good organizational skills
Strong work ethic
Ability to work both independently and as a team member
Valid driver's license and a good driving record

Preferred

M.S. degree a plus
