Responsibilities

Leads the execution of complex engineering tasks

Has demonstrated knowledge in the area of engineering expertise

Applies engineering principles to investigate, analyze, plan; and design, develop, implement, test, or evaluate military aircraft and weapons systems

Reviews and prepares engineering and technical analyses, reports, change proposals, and other technical documentation

Applies systems engineering experience to perform functions such as system integration, configuration management, quality assurance testing, or acquisition and resource management

Analyzes, designs, develops, implements, tests, or evaluates software, components, or systems related to engineering or functional requirements of military weapons systems, associated support systems

Required

Must hold a Technical or Scientific MS or MA degree from an accredited college or university

Must hold a Technical or Scientific BS or BA degree from an accredited college or university and must have an additional four (4) years of recent and relevant experience

Must have at least ten (10) years of recent and relevant experience in an engineering position, three (3) of which must be directly related to DoD systems

Must have demonstrated experience in an area of engineering expertise

Must have or be able to obtain an active DoD Secret Clearance or higher

Must be a U.S. Citizen

Preferred

Former NAVAIR Chief Engineer or Senior Class Desk experience is preferred

Experienced in providing Class Desk support, including coordination with Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and Fleet stakeholders

Strong understanding of Fleet operations, operator needs and mission environments

Knowledge of NAVAIR engineering policies, processes, and technical review requirements

Expertise in supporting Systems Engineering Technical Reviews (SETR) and developing engineering documentation such as risk assessments, safety reports, and technical plans

Demonstrated ability to identify and mitigate program risks, resolve technical issues, and communicate effectively across program leadership levels

Background in supporting acquisition lifecycle phases, from requirements development through sustainment
