Resident Engineer/Structures Representative
Atlas is a nationwide leader in civil engineering, materials testing and geotechnical consulting services for environmental, industrial and infrastructure construction projects. They are seeking a Resident Engineer/Structures Representative to provide technical project management for all phases of construction projects, including scheduling, design, and cost tracking.

Responsibilities
Creates drawings, specifications, contract documents to be used for construction, and conducting engineer studies
Attends project planning meetings, provides project estimates and work plans for construction activities
Provides technical project management for all phases of a project including scheduling, design, estimates, engineering specifications, drawings, materials procurement, construction contracts, cost tracking and project cost
Conducts engineering investigations and plans work by completing tasks which may include collection and analysis of data using established procedures, performance of engineering calculations, and participation in evaluating the feasibility of alternate solutions
Works on projects involving construction activities by reviewing shop drawings for conformance with specifications; assists in recordkeeping and in generating progress reports; and observes construction procedures
Performs data acquisition and analysis, researching the feasibility of alternative design approaches, site conditions, and/or regulatory agency specifications or regulations
Prepares material for reports and permit applications, gathering information, writing rough outline, and/or preparing work progression documents and graphic presentations
Performs field observations of construction/fabrication where appropriate
Performs such other duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary
Providing leadership and mentoring for less experienced engineers
Qualification
Required
B.S.E Civil Engineering - PE required
Minimum 10 years' work experience in similar role
Good interpersonal skills
PEed - B.S. in Civil Engineering or other Engineer Field Required
Valid California Driver's License Required
10 years professional experience preferred; one year of experience required with a Master's Degree in Engineering
Effective written, interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work as part of a team involving staff, clients and outside agencies
Proficient using Microsoft Office (Word & Excel) and AutoCAD
Strong problem-solving skills, including identifying data quality issues
Strong organizational skills, including an ability to prioritize activities and work with limited supervision
Results oriented and able to complete tasks on deadline with little supervision
Ability to make good decisions using sound, professional judgment
