Responsibilities

Performs technical support in the perioperative period under the direction and supervision of a RN according to accepted clinical standards of care
Prepares equipment, instruments, supplies, operating room and patients to ensure sterile field
Coordinates preparation or disposal of specimens, etc
Assists with inventory of sterile supplies
May assist in patient transport

Qualification

BLSCST certificationSurgical Technology ProgramMilitary trainingTechnical skills

Required

BLS (Basic Life Support)
Completion of an Accredited Surgical Technology Program OR completion of a military
Or, hospital-based training program with 5 years acute care Surgical Tech experience
Certified Surgical Technologist NBSTSA (CST) certification or Tech in Surgery - Certified NCCT (TS-C) certification
High School or Equivalent
