Electrical Design Engineer
VanTran Transformers is a company focused on the design and manufacturing of transformers. The Electrical Design Engineer will be responsible for designing new transformers, providing technical support during production, and collaborating with various teams to ensure successful product development.

Responsibilities
Daily On-Site Attendance
Performs various engineering tasks involving design, development, preparation of electrical and mechanical drawings, technical support, and assistance in testing
Designs liquid-filled distribution-type transformers through electrical and mechanical interpretation of purchase specifications
Performs optimized calculations and computations to plan and implement specific transformer design procedures
Analyzes and develops wire schematic diagrams
Interacts with customers to resolve technical issues
Creates test reports and leads witness testing
Assists Sales & Marketing Team with transformer designs for quoting purposes
Creates Bill of Materials in NetSuite
Assists Supply Chain Management with the purchasing of transformer parts and materials
Inspects the transformer throughout the manufacturing process and coordinates any necessary design revisions with the appropriate Manufacturing department
Participates in project teams and all activities related to the development of new products
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent required
0-5 years' experience in Design/Engineering
Microsoft Office proficiency
Strong verbal and written communication skills

Must be able to access and navigate each department in the Office and Factory Floor
This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm. However, depending on workload there may be occasional longer days and occasional weekends as needed. Employee is expected to work the hours necessary in order to timely and satisfactorily complete all necessary work tasks
Required to be authorized to work lawfully in the US
Preferred
Knowledge of Solid works/CAD 3D/2D modeling experience preferred
Knowledge of NetSuite preferred
Strong academic background in Electrical Engineering (Power & Electromagnetics) preferred
Strong mechanical aptitude preferred
